Before we start on any project big or small, we dive into planning each of the 7 (yes seven!) design elements. Color is one of the design elements that sets the stage for projects. Every color has it’s own story and mood on it’s own. Combining multiple colors together we are able to visually tell a more complex story and begin to bring projects to life!
My friend, fellow milspouse and talented party planner, Shakira, approached me about creating an invitation and custom watercolor food cards for her space event. She wanted to plan an “out of this world” space event. I absolutely love that while she planned this occasion for one of her little girls, she didn’t want to go into the pinks and purple galaxy outer space. We kept the inspiration from what you think back to from science class space colors: navy blues, orange and teals. Then we brought in a modern twist by bringing the orange a bit towards the Pantone Color of the Year- Living Coral. To round this all out we used a dusky purple for a neutral.

Alternatively, the hex codes for each of these colors are listed below so you can quickly copy and paste.
Do you have plans to use these colors? I would love to hear about your project in the comments below!
